Banana Bread III
A great no fat added banana bread with applesauce, whole wheat flour and whole rolled oats.
1 medium egg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
3.9 oz apple sauce
4 <span class="measurestring" title="medium (7" to 7-7/8" long)">medium</span> bananas
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
Mash ripened bananas in a bowl.
Add the rest of ingredients and mix just until moistened.
Pour into large loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray like Pam.
Bake at 350 °F (175 °C) for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or until wooden skewer comes out clean.
This comes out so delicious and moist; I was very impressed that it made "bread" instead of mush.
Note: if you wish, add a small amount of chocolate chips for an extra treat.
