A deliciously sweet cake with almonds, figs and raisins.

1 cup light margarine
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
6 large eggs
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup packed raisins
1 cup ground almonds
1 <span class="measurestring" title="cup (8 fl oz)">cup</span> water
2 tsps baking powder
1 tbsp honey
2 cups sugar
8 oz figs
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
Sift salt, flour, baking powder, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice).
Mix honey with water and add alternately to first mixture with dry ingredients.
Add raisins, figs, and nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan or angel cake pan.
Bake at 375 °F (180 °C) until it tests done (about 1 or 1 1/2 hours).
