Hot and Sour Soup
A flavorful homemade Chinese soup.
2 cups bok choy
16 oz Italian sausage
1/3 tbsp hot chili oil
1 dash white pepper
1/4 cup green onion
1 tsp sesame oil
3 tbsps rice vinegar
2 tbsps soy sauce
1 packet sugar substitute
6 cubes chicken bouillon
8 <span class="measurestring" title="cup (8 fl oz)">cups</span> water
1 can mushrooms
1 <span class="measurestring" title="can (303 x 406)">can</span> bamboo shoots
6 oz extra firm tofu
Scramble sausage in large pot.
Add water and bouillon, allow to boil.
Add tofu, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. Bring back to boil.
Stir in soy sauce, sugar substitute, rice vinegar, sesame oil, white pepper and chili oil.
Add bok choy and green onions, bring to boil for 4 minutes and serve.
