Sweet Spaghetti with Mushrooms
A Filipino style spaghetti.
1/4 <span class="measurestring" title="package (5 oz)">package</span> parmesan cheese
2 tbsps crumbled laurel leaves
1 tbsp black pepper
3 tbsps canola oil
1 oz light butter
1 lb ground turkey
6 cloves garlic
1 <span class="measurestring" title="package (10 oz)">package</span> onions
24 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup packed sugar
1/2 lb spaghetti
2 cups swedish meatballs
Heat pan with oil and butter.
Sauté garlic until light brown.
Add onions and glaze them.
Add ground turkey and meatballs. Wait until light brown.
Add pepper, bay leaf and soy sauce. Leave for 5 minutes. Don't let the sauce get too dry.
Add cans of tomato sauce. Let it simmer for 30 minutes in a very low heat. This will give it a chance to extract juice from meat.
Boil the spaghetti noodles until done. When serving, put the sauce on top of the spaghetti and sprinkle the parmesan cheese on top.
