Pad Beef Basil
Spicy Thai beef dish to be eaten on its own, over rice or with lettuce wraps.
2 tsps sugar
1 1/4 cups fresh Thai basil
2 tbsps fish sauce
1 1/2 <span class="measurestring" title="cup (8 fl oz)">cups</span> beef broth
1 cup chopped onion
1 <span class="measurestring" title="large (2-1/4 per lb, approx 3-3/4" long, 3" dia)">large</span> green pepper
10 chili peppers
1 1/4 lbs lean ground beef
Heat a wok or frying pan to medium-high. Begin sautéing the onions.
Add the beef and cook until most of the pink is gone.
Add remaining ingredients and sauté to combine and cook down until basil has wilted and beef is cooked through.
