Sweet Balsamic Vinaigrette
Using fresh ingredients you may never buy the bottled dressing again.
2 tbsps apple cider vinegar
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup turbinado raw cane sugar
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/3 cup tap water
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic, finely minced
1 tbsp onions, finely minced
2 tbsps parsley, finely chopped
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsps balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp sweet red peppers, finely minced
Combine all ingredients in a large mason jar with a well-fitting lid. Seal and shake vigorously. (You can also whisk oil into vinegar mixture in a large bowl to emulsify before pouring into jar).
Store refrigerated and it will last 2 weeks or so. Give a good shake before each use.
Note: feel free to experiment. Decrease the oil, use honey in place of turbinado or add more spice with the dried herbs and pepper.
